Bubble text wraps each letter in a circle. There are two versions in Unicode — outline, where the letter sits inside a ring, and filled, where the circle is solid and the letter is knocked out of it. Type a word above to get both.

Where bubble text works

• Instagram — reliable in a bio and in captions. Outline bubbles are the safer of the two in a display name.
• Discord — renders both styles in messages and nicknames without trouble.
• TikTok — fine in a bio; the username field won't accept either style.
• WhatsApp and Telegram — both render correctly on current versions.

Filled bubble letters (🅐) come from a block Unicode added in 2010, so they are the more likely of the two to appear as empty rectangles on an older Android phone or an out-of-date desktop. If you need it to display for everyone, use the outline version.

Numbers, and the letter gaps

Circled digits exist too — ⓪①②③④⑤⑥⑦⑧⑨ — and are handled on the number fonts page. Unlike several decorative alphabets, both bubble styles carry a complete A to Z, so no letter silently falls back to plain text. That makes bubble one of the safer styles for a name or a word where every character has to match.
